I have to credit Bill Curatolo, my good friend and brotha from anotha motha for bringing this to my attention.

2025 is no ordinary year!  The number 2025 is a perfect square, beautifully expressed as 452 = 2025 or 45x45=2025. This simple yet powerful relationship highlights the harmony and elegance that numbers bring to the world around us. But wait, there’s more!

2025 is the product of two smaller squares: (92x52 = 2025), and it is also the sum of three squares: (402 + 202 + 52 = 2025). These distinct mathematical identities make 2025 a fascinating number that captures the imagination of mathematicians and enthusiasts alike.

Still with me?

Note that 2025 = (20+25)2 and 2025 = (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9) 2.

Can you stand it?

One of its most extraordinary properties is that 2025 is the sum of the cubes of the digits from 1 to 9, as shown by: (13 + 23 + 33 + 43+ 53+ 63+ 73+ 83+ 93= 2025). This stunning characteristic connects 2025 to the captivating world of powers and cubes.

Historically, 2025 is also significant as the first square year since 1936, and it will be the ONLY SQUARE YEAR OUR GENERATION SEES! The next square year won’t occur until 2116, making 2025 an exceptional and rare occurrence. Puts missing a solar eclipse in perspective.

As if all of this isn’t fascinating enough…

Let’s talk about 2 amazing dates in 2025. You will not see these dates highlighted on the desk calendar you bought at the office supply store, but they should be!!

The first is 09/16/25 which can be written 32/42/52. Who can forget this noteworthy Pythagorean Triple? At some point during high school, you had to solve for the missing side of a 3,4,5 right triangle. Don’t argue with me- you did.

Then there is 9/27/2025. If we think of this as a single number we have 9,272,025 which, (are you ready for this?) equals (3045)2 .

Let’s say you live in a country where they use the much more logical dd/mm/yy date format. Then we have 27,092,025 which equals (5205)2 . WOW!

As we step into this remarkable year, let us appreciate the beauty of numbers and the magic they hold in shaping our world. The year 2026 will certainly be a big letdown, mathematically speaking.

And yes, I’ve verified all these calculations.
